We went and asked people on their opinions of New Zealand.
The most common responses that we obtained are “The country where there are
more sheep than people” (Statistically true), “The country where the movie Lord of the Rings is set” and “A smaller
version of Australia”.
What we found out was that people do not realize that New
Zealand is an ideal destination for study, and here are reasons why:
9. It is a less common place to study
New Zealand is not nearly as full of Indonesian Students as
say Australia or the UK. Because it is less frequented by Indonesian students,
you will have a much more unique experience than other students. Be the
nonconformist, don’t be ‘mainstream’!
8. A great exchange rate and lower cost
Currently, the exchange rate of the New Zealand dollar is
much better than a number of countries across the world. The lower living cost
of New Zealand will in turn lower the overall cost of studying
7. Everyone speaks English
New Zealand will help you improve on your English language
skills since everyone speaks English. You will also learn their colloquialism
and unique culture along the way.
6. It is the thrill seeker capital of the world
Did you know that the Maoris (Native people of New Zealand)
invented Bungee Jumping? Did you know Dir Edmund Hilary, the first man to
summit Mount Everest, was a Kiwi (person from New Zealand)? Want to go on a
bungee jump where you free fall for 8 seconds? Want to take a giant spinning
swing off a cliff? Hang gliding peek your interest? Jet boating? White water
rafting? Or just a good old fashion sky dive? This is where you need to be.
5. it’s the biggest small town in the world
While New Zealand is a major tourist destination and places
like Christchurch, Auckland, and Kingston are bustling cities, if you travel
any distance you will quickly be surrounded by rolling green hills, sheep, and
mountains for as far as the eye can see. The majority of towns in New Zealand
are small hamlets where everyone greets each other as they pass by.
4. It is beautiful beyond description
Mountains, fjords, glaciers, beaches filled with giant
perfectly rounded rocks; with New Zealand you start to think that Peter Jackson
toned down the scenery for his movies. Nothing can describe how breathtaking
this country is.
3. World Class Institutions
A qualification from New-Zealand University ranks with the
best in the world. In a small country and in small classes, students have the
rare advantage of one-on-one access to tutors- many of whom are internationally
experts in their fields. A degree from a New Zealand Institution is seen as
internationally desirable because students have high level of practical as well
as theoretical competency when they graduate.
2. World leading Courses and Degrees
New Zealand degrees have a reputation for being practical,
modern and desirable. In some niche areas such as biotechnology, forensic
science, marine engineering and food science and technology New Zealand degrees
are best in the world.
