Most would agree that working together would help people achieve more

Most would agree that working together would help people achieve more. More could be done when working together. A collaboration of multiple expertise may solve difficult cases and problems quicker than an individual. Scientists have collaborated on projects and found breakthroughs. Artists and musicians frequently collaborate and improve on their own expertise. Corporations merge in order to achieve more with higher employee numbers and greater resources.

This also applies to universities as well.
Some universities have formed groups through which they share ideas and resources regarding issues and procedures in the higher education sector. The groups below work to improve the higher education system and share best practice methods.

The Russell Group is an association of leading UK research-intensive universities committed to maintaining the highest standards of research, education and knowledge transfer. The members of The Russell Group have the quality and strengths to compete successfully in the global market place for research, skills, expertise and training.

The aims and objectives of The Russell Group are to promote the interests of universities in which teaching and learning are undertaken within a culture of research excellence, and to identify and disseminate new thinking and ideas about the organisation and management of such institutions.
The members of the Russell Group that SUN Education Group represents are, amongst others, University of Bristol, University of Manchester, Newcastle University, Queen’s University Belfast, University of Sheffield, University of Southampton, University of Warwick and the University of Exeter.

The Group of Eight (Go8) is a coalition of leading Australian tertiary institutions, intensive in research and comprehensive in general and professional education. It was established informally as a network of vice-chancellors in 1994 and was formally incorporated in 1999.
The Go8 aims to enhance the contribution of its member universities to the nation’s social, economic, cultural and environmental well-being and prosperity and extend the contribution of its member universities to the generation and preservation of the world’s stock of knowledge.
The members of the Group of Eight that SUN Education Group represents are, amongst others, The University of Sydney, The University of Queensland, Monash University, and The University of New South Wales.
